WELCOME TO WESTERN FIBERNET

A consortium of five Utah independent telephone companies, each of whom own and operate substantial fiber optic networks in their respective markets, have announced formation of Western FiberNet, LLC ("WFN"). The five companies are All West Communications (Kamas), CentraCom Interactive (Fairview), Emery Telcom (Price), South Central Communications (Panguitch/Escalante), and Uintah Basin Electronic Telecommunications (Roosevelt/Vernal).

If viewed in aggregate, the fiber optic assets of the companies form a virtual border-to-border network in Utah. WFN’s purpose is to give the five companies the ability to jointly market the fiber network capacities of the individual companies as a single, contiguous statewide fiber optic network.

The five companies have established a centralized Point-of-Presence in Salt Lake City (“SLC”) and many of the world’s largest telecommunications carriers have established their own interconnection presence at the SLC hub and now give WFN the ability to offer a full range of “big pipe” data services, including carrier-level Internet and Internet II connections.

In addition to its considerable rural reach, the company has substantial fiber capacity on the Wasatch Front. Services include private line DS-1, DS-3, OC-3, OC-12, OC-48 and OC-192. Ethernet offering include 5Mbs, 10Mbs, 20Mbs, 50Mbs, 100 Mbs, 500Mbs, 1Gbs, and 10Gbs as well as carrier-level Internet and Internet II connections.

In addition to a central POP at the Kearns Building in SLC, the WFN network has major POP’s in American Fork, Orem, Provo, Spanish Fork, Santaquin, Eureka, Dugway, Wendover, Bear Lake, Fairview, Ephraim, Gunnison, Salina, Richfield, Panguitch, Kanab, Hurricane, St. George, Cedar City, Zion National Park, Milford, Enterprise, Heber, Duchesne, Roosevelt, Vernal, Price, Green River, Castle Dale, and Scofield. The network includes direct connectivity in surrounding states to Colorado City, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, Denver, CO, Grand Junction, CO, Rangely, CO, Rifle, CO, Evanston, WY, Cokeville, WY, and interconnectability to most major locations in Idaho. Tier-one carrier presence at the SLC hub provides virtual world-wide connectivity outside the local region served directly by WFN companies.

The company offers turn-key LAN and WAN services that can interconnect multiple locations in most major cities and towns in the state as well as interstate and international connections.

Customers include: Small, medium & large enterprises, medical facilities & networks, government/military facilities and networks, data centers, cellular companies, financial institutions or any entity requiring fiber optic connectivity and services.
